 Info:

  • Tshwane Spartans and Cape Town Blitz may be frustrated by the Centurion rain as they look to conclude their Mzansi Super League group-stage campaigns.
  • The Spartans need a win to keep their play-off hopes alive, having seen four matches fall foul of the weather so far. They have won three and lost two of their other five, including defeat when these teams last met.
  • Dale Steyn bowled the Blitz to victory in that game, recording figures of 3-10 from his four overs, but it is their only win in their last five games - form which has seen last year's finalists drop to fifth in the table.

 AB de Villiers:
The South African legend hit 63 from 38 balls last time out – his third half-century of the tournament – to continuing proving his everlasting class with the bat.

 Pite van Biljon:
Scored 62 when these teams last met and has 122 runs in total – enough to earn a promotion up the batting order.

 Reolof van der Merwe:
Took 2-11 in the win against Jozi Stars and then an excellent 3-15 in the win against Paarl Rocks last time out. It continues the form he showed helping Netherlands win the T20 World Cup qualifier too.

 CTB Key Players:

 Quinton de Kock:
Though he is yet to score a half-century in this year’s tournament, the big-hitting wicket-keeper-batsman has scored well at the top of the order – adding 40 from 19 balls to his tally last time out. He has 235 runs in total so far.

 Janneman Malan:
Having started the tournament with an unbeaten 99 in the win against Jozi Stars, the big-hitting opener has been back to his best in recent matches – scoring 75, 36 and 60 in his last three innings.

 Wahab Riaz:
The Pakistani left-arm paceman is even more important in Dale Steyn’s absence. He took 3-19 last time out, having claimed 2-18 when these teams last met – those two performances clearly showing his return to top bowling form.

 Team Forms:

 Tshwane Spartans:

Tshwane Spartans have suffered with the rain, but two defeats in their last two completed matches have hampered their efforts too. Wiaan Mulder (52) and AB de Villiers (63) helped them to 188/5 in the next game against Nelson Mandela Bay Giants, but they had no answer to Ben Dunk in reply as they lost by six wickets with two balls to spare.
