After a miserable batting performance last time out, Jozi Stars suffered another blow when Gerald Coetzee picked up a hamstring injury. There will be more changes as a result, with Eathan Bosch pushing for a start. Duanne Olivier returned the team last time out and took a wicket, and so might retain his place this time. Sinethemba Qeshile replaced Ryan Rickleton, meanwhile, and was one of the few batsmen to reach double figures.
