 DUR vs CTB Toss Prediction

Teams batting first at this ground normally don't find it easy setting up a target for the opposition as determining a safe score in these excellent batting conditions could be tricky. So the team that wins the toss here is more likely to bowl first.

 DUR vs CTB Weather Report

The weather forecast for this game looks very good with clear skies and no chance of rain interruptions. It should be pretty warm in the evening with temperature expected to be around 25-27 degrees Celsius.

 DUR vs CTB Pitch Condition

The pitch at Newlands has generally been batsman-friendly and it certainly behaved like one in the two games that have been played here this MSL season. There won't be much movement off the surface for the seam bowlers and bounce should also remain consistent throughout the match.

Team NEWS:

 DUR Team News

Durban Heat dropped left-arm fast bowler Marco Jansen in the last match against Nelson Mandela Bay Giants after he returned expensive figures of 0-29 from three overs against Tshwane Spartans. Leg-spinner Shaun von Berg was brought into the side in place of Jansen. Though he too was expensive, but he picked up the key wicket of Matthew Breetzke at a crucial time and that might help him keep his place in the eleven. Wesley Marshall and Alex Hales will continue to open the batting while Kyle Abbott will be one of the new-ball bowlers.

 CTB Team News
Cape Town Blitz made a couple of changes to their side in the previous game against Paarl Rocks; they replaced George Linde and Anrich Nortje by Vernon Philander and Mohammad Nawaz. Both had a pretty decent outing with the ball and are expected to be retained for this upcoming clash against Durban Heat. Despite coming off a loss, the Blitz may come up with an unchanged line-up on Thursday.

 Predicted Lineups (Playing11):

 Durban Heats

Wesley Marshall, Alex Hales, Wihan Lubbe, Dane Vilas (c/wk), David Miller, Ravi Bopara, Andile Phehlukwayo, Shaun von Berg, Keshav Maharaj, Kyle Abbott, Malusi Siboto.

 Cape Town Blitz

Quinton de Kock (c/wk), Janneman Malan, Marques Ackerman, Liam Livingstone, Asif Ali, Vernon Philander, Mohammad Nawaz, Wahab Riaz, Sisanda Magala, Gregory Mahlokwana, Dale Steyn.

 Key Players:

 DUR Key Players:

 Wihan Lubbe:
He has scored the most runs for Durban Heat in this year's MSL and is having a very healthy strike-rate of 180.43. The top-order batsman clubbed 83 off 42 balls in the reverse encounter at the Kingsmead and the team will want him to play a similar knock.

 David Miller:
He is someone who can take the game away from the opposition very quickly with his explosive batting. The left-hander has looked promising in his two innings this season and is coming off an impressive 45 against Nelson Mandela Bay Giants.

 Keshav Maharaj:
The left-arm spinner has a pretty good record in the twenty-over format of the game. He may have taken only two wickets in three matches but he has done well to keep the batsmen quiet. Maharaj finished with an outstanding economy of 4.25 last time out and he will again look to build pressure in the powerplay.

 CTB Key Players:

 Quinton de Kock:
The captain has been the next best batsman for Cape Town Blitz. He is having an impressive strike-rate of 169 which equals the amount of runs he has scored this season. Once again, the onus will be on the left-handed opener to provide the innings a brisk start.

 Janneman Malan:
He is one of the leading run-scorers in the MSL 2019 with 187 runs at an average of 37.40 and strike-rate of 146.09. The opening batsman blitzed an unbeaten 99 off 59 balls against Jozi Stars and has scored 53 runs in his last two innings.

 Dale Steyn:
With 10 wickets in 6 matches at an economy of 8, Dale Steyn is currently leading the tournament's wickets charts. The veteran pacer claimed a three-wicket haul against Jozi Stars and has picked a couple of wickets in each of the last three games.

 Team Forms:

 Durban Heat:

Durban Heat are yet to register a win this season and they are currently lying second from the bottom at the fifth spot on the MSL 2019 points table. They have so far played five matches and lost two of those while three have ended in no results. Their campaign has been marred by rain; both their fixtures against Tshwane Spartans as well as the one against Paarl Rocks were washed out. The Heat faced Nelson Mandela Bay Giants in their last match at Port Elizabeth where they suffered a five-wicket loss.
~

 Cape Town Blitz:

Cape Town Blitz have won three and lost as many matches out of the six they have played so far in this year's Mzansi Super League and are placed fourth on the leaderboard with 13 points. After a positive start with three wins from the first four matches, the Blitz have faced failures on the previous two occasions; they lost to Nelson Mandela Bay Giants by five wickets at Port Elizabeth before going down to Paarl Rocks by two runs at home.

 SQUAD:
DURBAN HEAT: Alex Hales, Khaya Zondo, David Miller, Dane Vilas(w/c), Wesley Marshall, Ravi Bopara, Andile Phehlukwayo, Sarel Erwee, Shaun von Berg, Prenelan Subrayen, Keshav Maharaj, Kyle Abbott, Malusi Siboto, Daryn Dupavillon, Wihan Lubbe, Marco Jansen.

CTB:  Janneman Malan, Liam Livingstone, Asif Ali, Quinton de Kock(w/c), Moeen Ali, George Linde, Vernon Philander, Dale Steyn, Wahab Riaz, Anrich Nortje, Aviwe Mgijima, Gregory Mahlokwana, Marques Ackerman, David Bedingham, Mohammad Nawaz, Sisanda Magala, Khwezi Gumede.

All the best
