- Pakistan had struggled to 107/5 in 15 overs despite an excellent 59* from 38 balls from captain Babar Azam.
- Aaron Finch hit an unbeaten 37 from 16 balls in reply, but the match was curtailed with Australia 41/0 from 3.1 overs - just short of a complete game, despite them being well ahead of the DLS target at the time.

AUS vs PAK Toss Prediction
Australia won the toss and fielded first in the most recent game, so Pakistan is due this one. They may look to bat, however, on a batting wicket.
AUS vs PAK Weather Report
There is no rain on the forecast, which will please Australia after being frustrated last time out. Temperatures in the high-teens and some clouds will be the order of the day instead.
AUS vs PAK Pitch Condition
While it is hard to get an accurate gauge on the Manuka Oval, the pitch is generally one for the batsmen.

Australia was unchanged from the final match of the T20i series with Sri Lanka for the opening game of this series. Ben McDermott had come into the team to replace Glenn Maxwell, who is absent due to mental health issues.

PAK Team News
Pakistan has a much-changed squad from the defeat to Sri Lanka, but there was no place for Musa Khan, Khushdil Shah and Usman Qadir in the opening game of the series. With Sarfaraz Ahmed not touring, Babar Azam is captain and Mohammad Rizwan is wicket-keeper. Mohammad Irfan made his international return last time out, meanwhile.

Key Players:
AUS Key Players:
David Warner:
In freakishly good form in the series with Sri Lanka, hitting one century and two half-centuries without being dismissed, he only faced four balls last time out but remains unbeaten on his Australia return.
Mitchell Starc::
Back in form as he took a wicket with just his second ball of the first game on his way to figures of 2-22 from three overs.
Aaron Finch:
Forging more handy partnerships with David Warner at the top of the order. He hit an unbeaten 37 from 16 balls last time out – including five fours and two sixes – to prove his form before the rain came.
PAK Key Players:
Babar Azam:
After recovering from a below-par series against Sri Lanka, the stand-in captain was back to his best in the first game – scoring an unbeaten 59 from 38 balls for Pakistan.
Shadab Khan:
Proved his form in the warm-up game, in which he took three wickets, and the spinner has a good record for Pakistan against Australia too.
Mohammad Irfan:
Not the return to international cricket he will have wanted, after being taken apart by Aaron Finch, but the big paceman will return.
AUS vs PAK Dream11 Prediction:
Wicket-keeper(s)
Mohammad Rizwan out-scored Alex Carey in the first game to show his form, but only because Australia’s batting was not required before the rain came. Both are 8.5 credits, and Rizwan – having stuck around for a steady score – might be a good option.
Batsmen
They are all extremely expensive, but it hard to argue that Babar Azam, David Warner, Aaron Finch and Steve Smith do not merit selection. Babar Azam hit a half-century last time out, while David Warner comes into this series in brilliant form after his dominance against Sri Lanka. Aaron Finch was straight on the front foot last time out before the rain came and Smith’s batting remains dangerous – he hit a half-century against Sri Lanka.
All-rounders
~
That does leave you needing to save credits, but with Ashton Agar priced at eight credits, there is an early chance to do just that. Likewise Iftikhar Ahmed for Pakistan – though he only collected five points in the reduced opening game.
Bowlers
Picking Iftikhar does free up funds for Mitchell Starc at 9.5 credits, however. And with Shadab Khan, Wahab Riaz and Kane Richardson all 8.5 credits apiece, you can still settle on a strong bowling line-up – though it does mean overlooking Mohammad Amir and Pat Cummins, who is too expensive to pick alongside Starc.
Captain/vice-captain
David Warner and Aaron Finch are in fine batting form and both are good contenders for the captain – Warner’s consistency against Sri Lanka probably pushes it his way. Shadab Khan could come up with an answer through – his bowling form merits consideration and he may be a solid vice-captain.
Team Forms:
AUSTRALIA:
Australia came into this series on the back of three dominant wins against Sri Lanka, and they looked to be heading for another big victory until the rain-curtailed their efforts at Sydney. They had restricted Pakistan to 107/5 from 15 overs in rain-reduced first innings and were cruising to their revised target at 41/0 from just 19 balls when the rain returned and forced an early finish
PAKISTAN:
Pakistan’s batting has been below par so far, though there were some signs of recovery with Babar Azam’s unbeaten half-century in the opening game. While they appeared sluggish, 107/5 from 15 overs could have provided a good platform to kick on from in a normal 20-over inning.
Nevertheless, after three heavy defeats to Sri Lanka and only avoiding a loss first up because of the rain, confidence is unlikely to be high
