300+ has been scored thrice in the last two matches at Edgbaston which shows how good this pitch has been for batting recently. Batsmen will look to target the short boundary on one side of the ground. The pitch is likely to favor pace bowlers more than spinners. The conditions at the Edgbaston, Birmingham

Australia’s Road to Semi-Finals
Australia faced Afghanistan - the weakest of all the teams in this World Cup - in their campaign opener and as was expected, it proved to be a walk in the park for them as they emerged victors by seven wickets. Next, they found themselves up against a tougher opponent in West Indies at Nottingham where they secured a hard-fought win by 15 runs. The Aussies then faced their first defeat of the tournament, losing to India by 36 runs at London.
But the loss did not deter Australia and they bounced back strongly to win their next five matches on the trot - beating Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, England and New Zealand en route to their semi-final qualification. By that time, they had become the first team in the tournament to have ensured a spot in the knockout round. The Aussies, however, could not extend their winning run further as they ran into a resurgent South Africa in their last league-stage game. Their hopes of finishing at the top of the table were dashed as they lost by 10 runs and ended up second on the leaderboard with 14 points.
England’s Road to Semi-Finals
England started their CWC 2019 campaign with a comfortable 104-run victory over South Africa in the tournament opener at London but were left stunned by Pakistan in their next game at Nottingham as they went down by 14 runs. The hosts then roared back with dominant wins in their next three fixtures - against Bangladesh by 106 runs, West Indies by 8 wickets and Afghanistan by 150 runs.
England lost all their momentum thereafter as they suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka before going down to Australia by 64 runs at the Lord's. Back-to-back losses made their following encounter against India a must-win for them and they held their nerve to eke out a nervy 31-run victory in the end. The home team then took that confidence into their final round-robin game and brushed aside New Zealand by 119 runs to finish third on the points table with 12 points.
